Hello! I’m Srinwasan Mottoo, a proud fisherman from the Essequibo Coast, specifically from the vibrant 32 Housing Scheme in Jib, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My days are spent on the beautiful waters that cradle our land, casting nets and bringing in the freshest catch. Fishing isn't just a job for me; it's a way of life that connects me to my roots and my community. There's something special about sharing a plate of fried rice and fish with family and friends, especially when it's made with love and a sprinkle of our local spices.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve seen the beauty of our landscapes, from the lush greenery of the rainforest to the serene rivers that flow through our villages. The Demerara Harbor Bridge stands as a testament to our progress and the hope for a brighter future. As Guyanese, we are known for our resilience and hard work, traits that I carry with me every day. Our culture is rich with traditions like the Mashramani festivities and culinary delights like pepperpot and cook-up rice that remind me of home, no matter where I am.
