Greetings! My name is St Aubyn Rankin, and I am proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As an operator, I engage daily with the vibrant life of our community, where we celebrate our rich heritage through food, music, and the warmth of our people. Growing up during the lively '80s, I have fond memories of dancing the night away at places like the 747 and enjoying the sounds of Inner Circle and Guiding Lite, which truly ignited our spirits.
Guyana, though small, is a gem in South America, known for its stunning landscapes, such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls and the lush rainforests that envelop our land. I take great pride in sharing our culture, especially our mouthwatering dishes like pepperpot and roti that bring us together during family gatherings. Although we may not be in the Caribbean Sea, we embrace our identity as Caribbean people, and I believe it's vital to connect with our diaspora across the globe—whether in NYC, Greece, or beyond—celebrating our roots and advocating for positive change in our community.
As I continue my journey, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of Guyana and its people. Join me in exploring the wonders of our homeland, as we share peace, love, and a dash of our unique Guyanese spirit with the world.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
