Greetings! I’m Stefie Miller, a proud resident of Essequibo Coast, nestled in the serene community of Aurora Estate, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant rivers of Guyana, my heart beats in rhythm with the pulse of our rich culture. From the aroma of spicy pepperpot on festive occasions to the laughter shared over a plate of metemgee and fish, the essence of Guyanese life is woven into my daily experiences.
Having moved to Queens, New York, I cherish the sense of community we have built here in what many affectionately call “Little Guyana.” It's a joy to see our traditions come alive through events celebrating our heritage, where the sounds of chutney and soca fill the air. I often reminisce about my hometown, from the tranquility of the Pomeroon River to the spirit of resilience that defines our people. This diaspora connection fuels my passion to share our stories and culture with others, reminding us all of the beauty of our roots.
As Guyana stands at the forefront of an oil boom, I remain hopeful for the future of our beloved country.
