Hello! I’m Dr. Stephen Budhram, a dedicated physician based in the heart of Essequibo Coast, at 44 Public Road, Aberdeen, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of our beautiful country, I have always been inspired by Guyana’s rich cultural heritage, from the vibrant festivals to the tantalizing flavors of our local cuisine, like pepper pot and metemgee. My roots run deep in this land, and I strive to give back to the community that has nurtured me.
My journey as a doctor is fueled by a profound commitment to the health of my fellow Guyanese. The experiences I’ve shared with patients from areas like Pomeroon and River GT have shaped my practice, allowing me to understand the unique health challenges we face. Whether I’m treating patients or engaging with the community, I find joy in contributing to the well-being of those around me. I am a firm believer in the importance of accessibility to healthcare, especially in regions where resources may be limited.
Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora means carrying our culture, stories, and traditions with me wherever I go. I often reflect on my childhood adventures by the Pomeroon River and the warmth of family gatherings filled with laughter and delicious food. Through my work and my connections with fellow Guyanese abroad, I aim to bridge the gap between our homeland and the global community, ensuring that our voices and values are heard and celebrated.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
