Greetings! My name is Steven Lee Sooklall, and I proudly hail from the lush landscapes of Pomeroon-Supenaam in Guyana. Growing up amidst the vibrant culture of the region, I have always been inspired by the rich heritage of our people, reflected in our delectable dishes like cook-up rice and pepperpot, as well as the breathtaking beauty of our natural wonders such as the magnificent Kaieteur Falls. My passion for promoting Guyanese culture drives me to connect with both locals and the diaspora, ensuring our traditions continue to thrive, no matter where we are.
As someone deeply rooted in the community, I have witnessed the transformative changes that have come with the discovery of oil in our nation. While some may feel uncertain about how this will shape our future, I remain hopeful and committed to contributing positively to Guyana’s development.
