Hello! My name is Sugrim Prasad, and I am a proud farmer residing in Essequibo at Good Hope, East Bank of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Guyana, known for its stunning landscapes like the Kaieteur Falls and the majestic Essequibo River, holds a special place in my heart. I often reminisce about the vibrant festivals that showcase our cultural diversity, where music, dance, and local delicacies remind us of our roots. Although many Guyanese now call places like Toronto home, the bond to our birth country remains strong. I share in the pride of my fellow Guyanese who celebrate our identity, even from afar, often saying, “What a beautiful place I was blessed to be a Guyanese.”

Whether it’s sharing the tales of our unique pronunciation of words like "Essequibo" or initiatives to address challenges like mental health, I believe in the strength of our voices. We may sometimes feel like the "weird kids in the class," but we are united in the spirit of resilience and love for our beautiful homeland. Together, we can uplift each other and ensure that Guyana is recognized and celebrated for all that it is.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
