Hello! My name is Sukdeo Dookoo, and I’m proud to call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a labourer, I dedicate my days to supporting my community and contributing to the vibrant economy of our beloved Guyana. Living in this picturesque area, bordered by the stunning Pomeroon River, allows me to enjoy nature’s beauty while immersing myself in the rich culture of our people, from the diverse festivals to the delicious cuisine that includes our cherished pepperpot and roti.
Hailing from Lower Pomeroon, I've seen firsthand the resilience and warmth of our community. Our gatherings, whether for Diwali, Mashramani, or just a Sunday cook-up, remind me of the strength that lies in our diversity. It’s fascinating to know, as one commenter mentioned, that Hinduism is practiced by a significant part of the population. This diversity enriches our experiences and informs my perspectives, making me proud of my heritage and connection to the diaspora worldwide.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
