Hello! I’m Sumintra Gobin, a proud resident of Coast 62 Public Road Huist in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Living here, I’m surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture that our country is known for. From savoring the rich flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, to enjoying a sunny afternoon at the Pomeroon River, I cherish every moment of being rooted in this unique blend of Indigenous, African, and Indian heritage.
Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been captivated by our local customs, festivals, and, of course, the warmth of our people. Whether it’s participating in Mashramani celebrations or taking part in community gatherings, our spirit of togetherness is always alive. I firmly believe that our connection to the land and each other is what makes Guyana truly special, and I carry this pride wherever I go, even in the diaspora.
As an advocate for our community, I strive to share the beauty and challenges of life in Guyana. Just like many others, I recognize the issues we face, such as the need for improved infrastructure beyond our main roads, which can sometimes be a challenge. Yet, with resilience and unity, I’m optimistic about our future. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
