Hello! I’m Suntá Milton, a proud resident of 91 Sans Souci Wakenaam in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My home is nestled in one of the most vibrant corners of our nation, where the lush landscapes meet the rich cultural heritage of our people. Growing up here, I’ve cultivated a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from savoring the unique flavors of pepperpot and cook-up rice to gathering with family and friends during the lively celebrations of Mashramani. It’s these culinary delights and communal bonds that truly define the essence of being Guyanese.
As a member of the diaspora community, I understand the importance of maintaining our roots. Many of us, whether in Guyana or abroad, share stories that connect us across generations. I often hear comments from those living far from home, like the fond memories of a strong patois accent or a sense of pride in our indigenous and Afro-Guyanese heritage.
