Greetings! I’m Surendra Bhodram, a dedicated fireman hailing from the beautiful Delight Essequibo Coast, nestled in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture of my homeland, I've developed a deep appreciation for the warmth and resilience of our people. Food is a central part of our culture, and I can’t resist a good plate of chana—especially from the legendary Chana Man in Georgetown. The flavors of our diverse culinary heritage, whether it's a spicy pepperpot or the sweet satisfaction of a homemade cassava cake, bring back fond memories of family gatherings and community celebrations. These tastes connect me to my roots, and I cherish sharing them with others, both near and far.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I recognize the importance of staying connected with my fellow countrymen, whether they are in the UK, the US, or anywhere in between. We've all shared the same struggles and triumphs, reminding us of our shared identity. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
