About SURSATTIE NOHAR

About Sursattie Nohar

Hello! My name is Sursattie Nohar, and I proudly call Hall Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the enchanting Pomeroon River, our community is enriched by the lush landscapes and vibrant traditions that define Guyana. Growing up in this beautiful region, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine, especially the mouthwatering curries that bring friends and family together. I often reminisce about gathering around a hearty meal with loved ones, eagerly waiting for that perfect blend of spices and flavors, just like how we enjoy our food in Brooklyn!

My roots trace back to the bountiful areas such as Lower Pom River and Boradaro Island, where the rhythm of life flows as smoothly as the rivers themselves. The connections we build in our community are invaluable, whether we’re sharing stories of the Pomeroon River Grant or reminiscing about the days spent at the Woodland Settlement. Each space carries its own history and flavors that make our culture unique, and I cherish the friendships forged here that transcend borders and unite us, no matter where life takes us.

As I navigate through life in Hall Essequibo Coast, I carry with me the warmth of our traditions and the strength of our community. Whether it's celebrating our local festivals or sharing tales of our homeland with friends abroad, I remain committed to honoring my heritage. It’s in every gathering and every dish that I find my identity, and I look forward to sharing this journey with others who appreciate the beauty of our Guyanese culture.
