Hello! I’m Suzette Ramdatt, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast in Suddie Housing, located in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of this area has deeply shaped who I am. From enjoying the rich flavors of our local dishes, like pepperpot and cook-up rice, to taking in the breathtaking views of the Essequibo River, I carry the essence of my homeland wherever I go.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with our roots. Whether it's sharing a laugh about the lively energy of our festivals or reminiscing about the warmth of our communities, I feel a strong bond with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad. I believe there’s something uniquely beautiful about our experiences, like the mix of laughter and resilience that defines our culture—after all, who can forget the humor found in everyday life, as we often say, “Yea man, we just love to have fun!”
In my daily life, I strive to promote the beauty of Guyana while also acknowledging the challenges we face.
