Welcome to my corner of the world! My name is Swatie Singh, and I proudly call Essequibo 716 North Scheme in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a housewife, I embrace the rich heritage of our beautiful land, where the vibrant tapestry of cultures thrives. Growing up in Lower Pom. River Woodland Settlement, I have a deep appreciation for the blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, and European influences that shape our community. Most of us may not speak Spanish, but we share a language that transcends words—one of unity and love for our beloved Guyana.
Food is a vital part of my life and culture. From my kitchen, I often whip up dishes that reflect the unique culinary fusion of our nation. While some may say that Guyanese food isn't the best compared to what you find abroad, I firmly believe that each meal tells a story. Whether it's a hearty bowl of pepperpot or a sweet treat of guava cheese, the flavors of our homeland are irreplaceable and cherished, even if I occasionally miss the variety available in the diaspora.
