Welcome! My name is Syyed Juman, a dedicated joiner based in the heart of West Coast Demerara, specifically at 97B First Street North. Growing up amidst the lush greenery of Guyana, I've always cherished the vibrant culture that surrounds us. From the aroma of curry duck cooking on a Sunday afternoon to the sound of steelpan music filling our streets during Mashramani, every moment reflects the rich diversity of our nation. I believe that our shared heritage, where East Indian, African, Amerindian, and European influences intertwine, makes Guyana such a unique place to call home.
As I continue my journey in joinery, I take pride in serving my community with craftsmanship that mirrors our rich traditions. Just as each Guyanese dish—be it pepperpot or roti—carries its own story, so too does each piece of work I create. I have a deep appreciation for the customs that bind us, and I often reflect on how we all engage in each other’s traditions, celebrating festivals like Diwali and Christmas together.
