Greetings! I’m Taijwattie Ameeka, a proud resident of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of beautiful Guyana. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant rivers, I feel a deep connection to the land and its rich cultural heritage. Whether it’s enjoying the delicious flavors of local cuisine from spots like Singh’s or sharing stories of the Essequibo River, my heart remains intertwined with the unique experiences that our homeland offers.
Having moved abroad, I am often reminded of the warmth of our communities and the resilience of our people. While many of us find ourselves in new countries, the spirit of Guyana continues to thrive within us. I’ve seen firsthand how the diaspora shares a common bond, cherishing our roots while navigating life in places like America and Europe. It’s important for us to celebrate our culture, support each other, and keep the conversation about our beautiful land alive.

Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
