About TALESH PARBATTIE

About Talesh Parbattie

Hello! My name is Talesh Parbattie, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living along the picturesque Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I've spent countless hours tending to my farm, where I cultivate a variety of crops, including the ever-popular callaloo. As a true Guyanese, I believe that callaloo is not just any leafy greenβ€”it’s a culinary staple that holds a special place in our hearts and kitchens. Whether it's served with rice and fish or enjoyed in a hearty soup, this dish brings back fond memories of family meals and community gatherings.

My roots run deep in Lower Pomeroon, where the rich culture and vibrant community have shaped who I am. This region is a melting pot of traditions, where we celebrate our diverse heritage through local festivals, music, and, of course, food. I often reflect on the beauty of our landscape, from the lush green fields to the winding rivers that flow through our land, and I feel a strong connection to the generations before me who have nurtured this soil. As I work the land, I also contribute to a community that faces both challenges and opportunities, striving for a better tomorrow.

Being a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish every opportunity to share our culture with others. I often find myself reminiscing about our beautiful country, from the bustling markets to the serene landscape, and I actively engage with fellow Guyanese across the globe. It's vital for us to uplift one another, especially when we see the disparity between the rich and the struggling in our beloved homeland. I invite you to join me in celebrating our heritage, appreciating our struggles, and fostering a sense of unity as we work towards a brighter future for all Guyanese.
