Greetings! My name is Tayiesha Mohanlall, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Regina Essequibo Coast home. Nestled east of Public Road, Pomeroon-Supenaam, my roots run deep in the rich culture and history of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of the Pomeroon River and enjoying the warmth of our close-knit communities has shaped my identity and passion for sharing our unique traditions.
As a resident of this enchanting country, I cherish the culinary delights that define our culture. From indulging in the melt-in-your-mouth goodness of dahl puri to savoring a steaming bowl of pepper pot—one of our beloved dishes—food is a vital part of our connection to one another. I take pride in celebrating our diverse heritage, which reflects influences from East Indian, African, and Indigenous cultures, all of which can be tasted in every bite of our local cuisines.
Living in Guyana and connecting with the diaspora community, whether through stories of our homeland or the shared nostalgia for local favorites, brings me joy. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
