Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture of this beautiful country, I have developed a deep appreciation for the warmth of our communities and the diversity that our land offers. As a lover of our local cuisine, I find joy in sharing traditional dishes like pepperpot and metemgee with family and friends, especially during festive occasions like Mashramani. The celebrations remind me of our heritage and the vibrant spirit of our people, whether it’s ringing in the New Year with joyous gatherings or enjoying a friendly debate about the best places to visit, like the majestic Kaieteur Falls or the historic Fort Zeelandia. My connection to the diaspora is strong, and I always seek to engage with fellow Guyanese, whether near or far, to celebrate our culture and share stories of our experiences.
