Hello! My name is Terance Tankoon, and I proudly call the vibrant shores of West Bank Demerara my home. As a fisherman, I spend my days on the beautiful waters of the Demerara River, where the bountiful catch reflects the rich natural resources of our beloved Guyana. The unique rhythm of life here is steeped in our diverse cultures, where the blending of Indigenous, African, Indian, and Chinese influences creates not only the delicious flavors of our cuisine—think spicy pepperpot and sweet coconut milk curry—but a warm community spirit that I cherish.

Growing up along the banks of the river, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the stunning landscapes and landmarks that make Guyana special. From the lush greenery of the Essequibo region to the majestic Kaieteur Falls, our country is a treasure trove of natural beauty. Many of my friends and family have ventured abroad, yet we remain connected through our vibrant diaspora. Our shared stories, our laughter, and our cherished traditions keep the Guyanese spirit alive, no matter the distance.
