Greetings! I’m Tessa Benjamin, a proud resident of Pomeroon River Grant in Kitty Lowe Pom. I call this vibrant community home, where the rhythms of daily life are beautifully intertwined with our rich cultural heritage. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Guyana, I've developed a deep appreciation for our natural beauty, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene Essequibo River. The tantalizing aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stove and the spicy kick of curry bring back fond memories of family gatherings, where laughter and storytelling flow as freely as the food.
As a Guyanese, I cherish the connections that span beyond our borders. Our diaspora community, like those vibrant voices in New York and Greece, celebrates our culture in diverse ways.
