Hello! I’m Tharick Jairam, a proud resident of the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, specifically from the Bank Demerara area. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich culture of Guyana, I have a deep appreciation for our unique heritage, which fuses influences from Indigenous, African, and Indian roots. One of my favorite pastimes is enjoying the delightful flavors of our local cuisine. You can often find me savoring delicious roti, perhaps while reminiscing about the lively gatherings with friends and family. As we share stories, laughter, and of course, plenty of good food, I can't help but agree with my friends who joke about my love for roti—maybe one day I’ll find that special someone of Indian descent to share a meal with!
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections we maintain with our culture, even from afar. I’ve had the privilege of exchanging experiences with fellow Guyanese and those who have lived and worked in our beautiful country. From reminiscing about the bustling streets of St. Monica to the tranquil vibes of Karawab, I believe our shared stories keep our spirit alive, no matter where we are.
