Hello! My name is Joel Thomas, and I'm proud to call the beautiful region of Barima-Waini my home. As a miner, I spend my days working in the depths of our rich landscape, surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Guyana. Though I currently reside in Landing, I often think about the flavors of home—especially when it comes to making my favorite pepperpot. The struggle of finding cassareep in the diaspora is real, and sometimes I wish I could just throw on a pot and let the sweet aroma fill the air! I connect with many Guyanese abroad who share similar stories of longing for our culinary delights, reminding me of the strength and resilience of our culture. We carry our roots with us, no matter where life takes us.
