Greetings! My name is Suzanne Thomas, and I proudly call Mission in the Barima-Waini region of Guyana my home. Nestled between the lush greenery and flowing rivers, this area is a vibrant embodiment of our nation's rich cultural heritage. Growing up in Guyana, I've been deeply influenced by the diversity that characterizes our beautiful country, a unique blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and European cultures. The stories told by our elders, the sounds of the tassa drums during festivals, and the aroma of freshly baked cassava bread bring our community together. While the Guianas and Suriname may be lesser-known to many, I take pride in sharing our culture and traditions with those who are curious. Whether it's guiding visitors through the expansive Iwokrama Forest or sharing insights about our vibrant markets, I'm always eager to foster a connection.
