Hello! I’m Tiffany Price, a proud resident of the vibrant community on the Essequibo Coast, specifically at 152 Respect Street in Lil, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana has shaped my identity, from the rhythmic sounds of the rain and the laughter of neighbors to the rich flavors of our beloved traditional dishes. Nothing brings me more joy than enjoying a plate of braised meat with dhalpurie, tearing off a piece of that soft bread to savor alongside the savory sauce – it’s a culinary experience that warms my heart and soul.
As an active member of the Guyanese diaspora, I love connecting with fellow Guyanese around the world. Whether it’s sharing a laugh over our unique expressions or reminiscing about life in Guyana, I cherish these connections. I often hear my friends say, “Es-eh-key-bow had me cracking up!” which reflects the humor and spirit that we carry with us, no matter where we are. Our culture is distinct, marked by the influence of various communities that make up our beautiful nation, yet we remain linked through shared experiences and memories.
Though I may currently be nestled in a different corner of the world, my heart remains anchored in Guyana. I understand the challenges our country faces, from infrastructural improvements to environmental concerns. Yet, I believe that with collective effort and a sense of pride, we can continue to uplift our homeland.
