Hello! My name is Timehra Peters, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Growing up in this vibrant community, I've always been surrounded by the rich culture and traditions that define our beautiful Guyana. From the sweet aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the air during family gatherings to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, my heart is deeply rooted in the spirit of our people. I often reminisce about the serene moments spent along the Pomeroon River and the delicious flavors of local dishes like pepperpot and cassava bread.
Living in the 1258 Phase Three area of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I've forged strong connections with my neighbors, many of whom share stories of their own experiences, whether they grew up on the Riv. Grant Paradise Street or ventured from the Upper Pomeroon River. We often gather to reflect on our past while celebrating the diversity that makes our community so special. I believe that these connections create a sense of belonging, whether here in Guyana or among the diaspora around the world.
As a proud resident of Essequibo, I am committed to fostering a sense of community and sharing our culture with others.
