Hello! My name is Clinton Toney, and I proudly hail from Mission in the beautiful Barima-Waini region of Guyana. As a miner, I am deeply connected to the land and the resources that shape our vibrant community. Guyana is not just my home; it is a place where the lush green landscapes meet the rich traditions of our people. From the majestic Pomeroon River to the serene Calabash Island, every corner of this land carries a piece of my heart.
Growing up in Guyana, I developed a passion for our local cuisine—nothing beats the fiery flavors of our pepperpot or the comforting taste of cooked rice accompanied by fresh fish from the rivers. As many in the diaspora will tell you, nobody could stop Guyanese food! It's a vital part of who we are and a delicious way to share our culture with the world.
In my spare time, I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad. Whether it's a gathering over a meal or sharing stories of our beloved Pom River Grant, these connections are what keep the spirit of our homeland alive.
