Greetings! My name is Tracey Arjoon, and I proudly call the vibrant Essequibo Coast my home. Living in Windsor, I find inspiration in the lush landscapes surrounding me, from the serene Pomeroon River to the rich biodiversity that characterizes our region. As a resident of this beautiful country, I cherish our diverse culture, where the rhythms of our music and the aromas of our traditional dishes, such as pepperpot and metemgee, tell the stories of our ancestors.
Growing up in Guyana has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our heritage. I often reminisce about the lively gatherings filled with laughter, where we share our home-cooked meals and celebrate our festivals, such as Mashramani and Diwali. Through my experiences, I have developed a strong sense of community, connecting with Guyanese both at home and in the diaspora. I believe that our shared history and cultural expressions, like the unique accents found in various regions of Guyana, are what truly bind us together.
