Hello! My name is Travin Chand, and I’m a proud farmer from the beautiful Essequibo Mora East Bank in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by lush green fields and the rich culture of our land, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and agricultural bounty of Guyana. Whether it's the sweet taste of fresh cassava or the vibrant colors of our local fruits, every harvest tells a story of hard work and community. You can often find me at the bustling Bourda Market, sharing the fruits of my labor with neighbors and travelers alike.
In addition to farming, I cherish the connections I’ve built with fellow Guyanese—both at home and abroad. Although many of my family members have ventured overseas, the warmth of our heritage remains strong. From the sound of calypso music that fills the air during celebrations to the mouth-watering aroma of cook-up rice on a Sunday afternoon, these memories create a sense of belonging that transcends distance. I often share stories with friends in the diaspora, reminiscing about the vibrant life back home and the unique experiences that make Guyana special.
