Greetings from the vibrant heart of Guyana! My name is Tresha Kissoonlall, and I proudly call Regina Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled east of the public road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage that makes our country unique. Whether it’s enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or taking a leisurely stroll along the Essequibo River, every moment here is filled with the warmth and flavor of our diverse traditions.
As a resident deeply connected to my roots, I cherish the sense of community that binds us together. From the bustling markets of Georgetown where you can find fresh fruits like golden apples and sapodilla, to the serene beauty of the Kaieteur Falls, there’s no shortage of experiences that reflect our Guyanese spirit. I am also grateful for the connections we share with our diaspora, as many of us venture beyond our shores while keeping our culture alive through music, storytelling, and of course, good food!
Through my journey, I aim to celebrate and promote the richness of Guyanese culture, while fostering connections within and outside our borders. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
