About TROY ELIZABETH LINDSAY FRIDAY

About Troy Friday

Greetings! My name is Troy Friday, and I proudly serve as a policeman in the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, specifically at Sand Pit Road on the Essequibo Coast. Living in Guyana, I embrace the vibrant culture that surrounds me, from the lively rhythm of our local festivals to the rich flavors of our traditional dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice. As I walk the streets of my community, I often engage with locals who speak Creole, reflecting the essential spirit of our everyday life. It's a joy to connect with my neighbors and share stories, especially about our incredible landmarks, such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls and the serene beauty of the Essequibo River.

As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the importance of maintaining our cultural ties, even when some of us travel abroad. I cherish conversations with family and friends who have settled in places like the United States, where they share tales of their visits home and the warmth of our churches that echoes with the vibrant singing of hymns. Despite the challenges our nation faces—like navigating the complexities of our oil resources—there is a deep-rooted pride in our resilience and unity as a people.

In my work, I strive to foster safety and community, recognizing that every interaction shapes our society. Guyana holds a special place in my heart, and through my role, I hope to contribute positively to our future, ensuring that the love for our land, culture, and each other continues to flourish. O beautiful Guyana, my lovely native land; I am honored to serve and protect the community I cherish.
