Greetings! My name is Troy Thomas, and I’m a proud craftsman residing along the Essequibo Coast, specifically at Public Road West in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My passion for craftsmanship is deeply rooted in the rich traditions of Guyana, a country vibrant with diverse cultures and influences. From the warm embrace of our local communities to the lush landscapes that inspire our creativity, every piece I create reflects the essence of my homeland.
Growing up here, I have been fortunate to savor the delectable flavors of Guyanese cuisine—nothing warms the soul quite like a hearty plate of cookup or a serving of fried rice, often enjoyed with a side of our beloved pepper pot. I firmly believe that our food tells the story of our people, embracing flavors from our Indian, African, Amerindian, and European heritage. As some of my fellow Guyanese say, “Pepper pot is not the only national dish; we take food from all of our ethnic groups,” and that’s something I cherish deeply.
Beyond my craftsmanship, my heart lies with the Guyanese diaspora.
