Hello! My name is Tulsie Boodhoo, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Living in the 21 Housing Scheme in Jib, Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am surrounded by the lush beauty of our land, from the mighty Essequibo River to the vibrant local communities. Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, whether it’s enjoying a plate of delicious pepper pot during Christmas or taking part in the lively festivities during Mashramani. Our community is not just a place; it’s where stories and traditions are passed down, connecting us to our roots.
As a resident in this beautiful region, I have witnessed firsthand the changes that come with time. It’s essential to keep our narratives updated and relevant, as many of us in the diaspora often reflect on our experiences and treasures from home.
