Hello! I'm Tulsiedai Sugrim, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have always embraced our rich cultural heritage, from the vibrant festivities of Diwali to the spirited celebrations of Mashramani. One of my fondest memories is gathering with family over a sumptuous meal of pepperpot during Christmas – a tradition that infuses our holiday season with warmth and nostalgia.
Though I currently reside here, I often find myself reflecting on the beautiful landscapes of our country, from the winding Essequibo River to the lush greenery that defines our countryside. The echoes of chutney soca and the aroma of spicy dishes remind me of home. I take pride in being part of the Guyanese diaspora, where we carry a piece of our homeland wherever we go, connecting with others who share our love for this incredible nation.
As I navigate life in a new setting, I remain committed to celebrating our culture and sharing it with others. Whether it's through music, food, or stories of my hometown, I strive to keep the spirit of Guyana alive. After all, no matter the distance, the heart of a Guyanese is always close to home.
