Hello and welcome! My name is Tysha Mc Donald, and I proudly call the beautiful Coast N.O.C Compound in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up in Guyana has gifted me with a profound appreciation for our rich culture, from the vibrant sounds of a tassa band at a family gathering to the delightful aroma of a good pepperpot simmering on the stove, especially during the festive season. I cherish our traditions and the warmth of our people, who are known for their friendliness and hospitality. As many of my fellow Guyanese would say, "Wahnita!" – a true reflection of the welcoming spirit of our land.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora means staying connected with our roots, and I love sharing stories about our unique landscapes like the majestic Kaieteur Falls and the serene beauty of the Essequibo River. It’s no small wonder that many of us, whether at home or abroad, take pride in our nation’s achievements, especially with the exciting developments in the oil industry. As some might put it, "Not now with all that oil!" – a reminder of our evolving narrative as a nation. I am passionate about promoting our culture and sharing the richness of our heritage with others.
