Hello! My name is Ursilla Pitman, and I am proud to call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, my life is deeply intertwined with the vibrant culture, traditions, and flavors that define our community. Living on Coast 343 Pitman Street, I am fortunate to be surrounded by the stunning natural landscapes that our country is renowned for, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls (or "kai-chore," as we affectionately pronounce it) to the dense rainforests that echo with the sounds of our diverse wildlife. My experiences here have taught me the value of community, as we often come together to celebrate our rich heritage through festivals, music, and dance, keeping the spirit of our ancestors alive.
As I navigate life here in Guyana, the sense of connection to the diaspora is ever-present. Regardless of where my fellow Guyanese may be in the world, I cherish our shared stories and experiences, knowing that we carry a piece of home wherever we go.
