Welcome to my corner of the Essequibo Coast! I’m Vanessa Garraway, a proud housewife living on 46 Main Street Westbury in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My heart beats for the vibrant culture that surrounds me, from the rich flavors of our local cuisine—especially a good plate of pepperpot or some tasty metemgee—to the stunning views of the Essequibo River that I cherish every day.
Growing up in Guyana, I have always been deeply connected to my roots, and I love sharing that bond with my family. There’s something special about gathering around the dinner table with loved ones, reminiscing about times spent exploring places like Stabroek Market or enjoying the lush landscapes that our country has to offer. I often think about the stories shared by my parents, just as others share their experiences of family and home in the diaspora—like those heartfelt visits back to Albouystown or the excitement of finally seeing our beautiful land in person.
