Greetings! I’m Vanessa Goolcharran, a proud resident of Guyana, currently residing at 33 First Street. My roots run deep in this vibrant nation, where the lush landscapes meet a rich cultural history. Growing up near the Lower Pom River, I've been inspired by the natural beauty and the warm sense of community that defines our way of life. From the invigorating aroma of pepperpot simmering on Sundays to the lively celebrations of Mashramani, I carry these cherished Guyanese traditions with me wherever I go.

As a member of the diaspora, I understand the challenges we face, especially with the rising cost of living, which many like to discuss. Yet, I hold onto the belief that hard times bring out the best in us Guyanese. Whether through our commitment to family, our spirit of resilience, or the delicious meals we share, we find ways to support one another. I often reminisce about the bustling markets of Georgetown and the sense of togetherness found in our communities, be it through missions like River Hackney or gatherings at Dove Island Southern.

Passionate about staying connected to my heritage, I actively engage with fellow Guyanese, both at home and abroad. I believe that despite the distance, we can keep our culture alive through storytelling, food, and the love we share for our beautiful homeland.
