Hello! My name is Vernon Dash, and I proudly call the lush landscapes of the Essequibo Coast my home. Located along the vibrant 12 Public Road, I am a dedicated farmer who cherishes the rich agricultural heritage of Guyana. Growing up in this beautiful region, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local crops, from cassava and rice to the sweet fruits that dot our landscape. There’s nothing quite like gathering fresh produce and sharing it with family and friends over a hearty meal of pepperpot and cassava bread.
As a proud Guyanese, I often reminisce about the enchanting rivers and serene islands that surround us, particularly the beauty of Arasaro Island in the Pomeroon River. The warmth of our community is something that I hold dear, as it reflects the spirit of our people—resilient and welcoming. Whether it’s enjoying a Sunday afternoon listening to chutney music or engaging in friendly banter about the proper way to pronounce “Essequibo,” our culture is vibrant and full of life.
Though I may spend my days tending to the land, my heart is always connected to the Guyanese diaspora. The stories of fellow Guyanese, whether from near or far, unite us in our love for this land.
