Welcome! I’m Vibert Thomas, a proud resident of Bank Demerara in Onderneeming West, located in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots are deeply intertwined with the rich cultural heritage of our nation, home to a mosaic of communities including Amerindians, Afro-Guyanese, and Indo-Guyanese. The stories of our ancestors shape my identity, and I often reflect on the diverse history that has influenced our way of life.
Food is a significant part of our culture here in Guyana, and I take great pride in our culinary traditions. While Pepperpot is often associated with Christmas feasts, my everyday meals usually feature delicious chicken curry, beef curry, and comforting dhall served with soft oil roti. These dishes not only satisfy the palate but also serve as a reminder of our shared heritage and the recipes passed down through generations.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the connections I maintain with fellow Guyanese both at home and abroad.
