Greetings! I’m Vidyut Tulasaram, a passionate photographer based on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, where the vibrant life of Pomeroon-Supenaam unfolds daily. Growing up near the Lower Pom River, in the heart of our lush landscapes, I’ve been inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds me, from the sprawling rice fields to the serene banks of the river, where community life thrives. My photography aims to capture not just the sights, but the spirit of Guyana—the warmth of our people and the rich tapestry of our culture.
As a proud Guyanese, I draw inspiration from our diverse culinary traditions, whether it’s the mouthwatering aroma of pepperpot simmering on the stovetop or the vibrant colors of fresh local fruits at the market. I often find joy in photographing family gatherings filled with laughter, as well as the stunning sunsets over the Pomeroon River that reflect the colors of our everyday lives. My work serves as a bridge to our diaspora, connecting those far and wide with the essence of home.
Whether I’m capturing the rustic charm of the Lower Pom River, the bustling energy of Grant Kitty, or the serene landscapes of Upper Pom, I strive to document the stories that make our communities unique.
