Growing up near the enchanting Pomodoro River, I have always been captivated by the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds our community, from the lush greenery to the serene waterways that connect us to our roots.
Food is at the heart of our gatherings, and I love preparing traditional dishes like pepperpot, cook-up rice, and fresh fish from the river. These meals not only nourish the body but also bring family and friends together, creating memorable moments filled with laughter and storytelling. I often reminisce about the lively celebrations during Mashramani and other local festivals where we showcase our rich cultural heritage through music, dance, and, of course, delicious food!
