Hello! I’m Vindera Persaud, a proud resident of West Coast Demerara, located in the heart of the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara region. Growing up here has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich culture, vibrant community, and the stunning landscapes that define our homeland. From the tranquil banks of the Pomeroon River to the colorful markets of Parika, every corner of Guyana holds a special place in my heart.
As a lover of our local cuisine, nothing brings me more joy than indulging in a snow cone topped with condensed milk on a sunny day, or enjoying a delicious eggball after a long week. I often reminisce about the flavors of our beloved dishes and the sense of togetherness that comes with sharing meals with family and friends. Even from afar, my heart beats in rhythm with the sounds of our bustling streets and the laughter of our people.
Though I may not have returned home in a while, the spirit of Guyana is always with me wherever I go. We are a resilient nation, united by our diverse backgrounds and the belief that we are “One People, One Nation, One Destiny.” I look forward to reconnecting with my roots and sharing our rich heritage with others.
