Hello! I’m Violet Biphia, a proud resident of Bank Essequibo in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the sounds of the Essequibo River to the flavor of our beloved pepperpot, made flavorful with scotch bonnet peppers, not habaneros! Food is a cornerstone of our culture, and sharing local dishes with family and friends brings me immense joy.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the strong connections we maintain with our roots, no matter where we are in the world. Whether it’s the unforgettable festivals celebrating our diverse heritage or simply reminiscing about a childhood spent in the heart of our lovely villages, I take pride in our ability to keep our traditions alive.
