Hello! I’m Wayne Reynolds, a proud labourer from the charming Essequibo Coast, specifically from 533 Walton Hall in Lima, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this vibrant region, I’ve had the joy of soaking in the rich cultural heritage that Guyana has to offer. From the lush greenery of our local mangroves to the sounds of the market as people gather to enjoy fresh catch and cook up some delicious pepperpot or cook-up rice, my roots run deep in this beautiful land.
As someone who embraces the warmth of our diverse community, I often share stories with my friends and family about the vibrant festivals we celebrate, like Mashramani and Diwali, which highlight our Hindu traditions. It’s these connections that resonate with all of us, whether we’re in Guyana or abroad, reminding us of our shared heritage. I also take pride in the camaraderie found along the riverbanks, whether it’s enjoying a cool drink or reminiscing about our days in Lower Pomeroon.
Being part of the Guyanese diaspora means carrying a piece of home wherever I go. I firmly believe that anyone who thinks otherwise is just local baiting! I welcome all to experience the warmth of our community and the flavors that make Guyana truly unique. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
