Hello! I’m Wayne Cameron, a proud Guyanese miner residing in the heart of Essequibo at the 231 Railway Line in Parika, Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land where the mighty Essequibo River flows, and where the vibrant culture is as rich as the soil we work on. To me, Guyana isn’t just a place; it’s home, and I cherish every moment spent here, whether I’m enjoying a plate of delicious pepperpot or sharing stories with neighbors about the local wildlife and lush landscapes.
Growing up in Essequibo, I’ve been fortunate to witness the beauty of our natural resources firsthand. From the serene beaches of the Atlantic coast to the breathtaking landscapes of our interior, I feel blessed to call this place my own. My work in mining not only connects me to the earth but also to my community, where we often gather to celebrate our diverse cultures, be it through a Sunday cook-up or during lively festivals that showcase our heritage.
As I navigate the challenges and rewards of my profession, I’m also deeply connected to the Guyanese diaspora. We share a love for our homeland, whether we’re in Yarashirima Settlement or scattered across the globe. I believe it’s essential for us to uplift each other, reminding the world of Guyana's beauty and potential. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
