About WAYNE ERROL JOHN

About Wayne John

Hello! My name is Wayne John, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. As a skilled SKDR operator, I dedicate my days to ensuring the smooth operation of our local transportation services, connecting communities and supporting the vibrant flow of life along the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Born and raised here, I have a deep appreciation for the warmth of our people, the beauty of our landscape, and the rich cultural heritage that defines our identity as Guyanese.

Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been surrounded by the sounds of calypso and the savory aromas wafting from roadside cook shops, where you can find everything from pepperpot to curry. Whether it's enjoying a Sunday meal with family or sharing stories over a bowl of cook-up rice, food is a fundamental part of our culture. I often find joy in the little things, like watching the sunset over the Essequibo River and sharing a hearty laugh with friends who understand the unique charm of our country. And let's not forget our diaspora; it's heartwarming to see Guyanese communities thriving abroad, keeping our traditions alive and celebrating our shared history.

For me, being Guyanese means embracing our diverse influences—from the Rasta traditions that have shaped our music and spirituality to the Indian culinary heritage that enriches our kitchens. My passion for my culture drives me to advocate for kindness and hospitality, values that are effortlessly woven into the fabric of our society. I invite you to join me in celebrating the beautiful nuances of Guyana and, together, let’s share our stories that connect the past to the present. After all, as our elders say, “A kind word costs nothing but means everything.”
