Greetings! I’m Wayne Rampersaud, a proud resident of the beautiful Essequibo Coast in Guyana. Nestled between the vibrant landscapes of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, my home is a stone's throw from the lively public road, where the sounds of local vendors and the aromas of fresh metemgee and pepperpot fill the air. Although Guyana faces its share of challenges—be it in infrastructure or governance—I believe in the resilience of our people and the rich culture that defines us.
Growing up in a community that cherishes its natural beauty, I have always felt a strong connection to our rivers and savannahs. The Lower Pomeroon, with its lush greenery and humble fishing spots, has instilled in me a love for our environment, despite the difficulties we face. I often recall the warmth of my neighbors and the stories passed down through generations, reminding me that our strength lies in our unity and shared experiences. As a Guyanese, I recognize the potential for change, and I strive to be a part of it, advocating for better living conditions and environmental respect in our beloved country.
Having spent time in the diaspora, I value the connections we maintain with fellow Guyanese around the world.
