Hello! I’m Wesley Williams, a proud Guyanese seaman hailing from the vibrant Essequibo area, specifically the 788 New Housing Scheme in Pomeroon-Supenaam. My roots run deep in this beautiful land, where the lush greenery meets the mighty Essequibo River. Growing up in Guyana has filled my life with rich experiences, from savoring the delectable flavors of pepperpot and metemgee to celebrating the lively festivities of Mashramani, which highlight the diverse cultures of our people.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry the warmth of our black and brown friendships wherever I go. Like many, I’ve seen my homeland face challenges, but I believe in the resilience of our people. It’s no surprise that we often joke about the beauty of our country being overshadowed by government issues—after all, we know that true Guyanese spirit shines through in every corner, from the serene beaches of Wakapau to the bustling markets in Georgetown.
