Hello! I’m Winston Adams, a proud Guyanese labourer residing in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up here along the Pomeroon River, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our lush landscapes, the warmth of our communities, and the rich flavors of our local cuisine. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of metemgee or sharing a bowl of pepperpot during special occasions, food has always been a way to connect with my roots and fellow Guyanese.
As Guyana enters an exciting new chapter with the discovery of oil, I’m filled with hope for our future. I envision our beautiful country transforming into a skyline of tall skyscrapers, much like Dubai, while still preserving the essence of what makes us unique. From the scenic views of the Essequibo River to the beloved markets of Georgetown, every part of our land tells a story of resilience and community.
Though I work hard as a labourer, I take pride in the strength of our diaspora and the connections we maintain with our brothers and sisters abroad. Our shared experiences, whether about the struggles we face or the delicious dishes we cherish, keep us bonded. As we embrace a promising future, I remain committed to celebrating our culture and uplifting our community, both at home and around the world.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
