Hello! My name is Wong Hing, and I am proud to call the left bank of the Essequibo River in Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. As a conductor, my days are filled with the vibrant rhythms of our rich culture. Growing up in a multicultural society, I've been fortunate to embrace the culinary delights of our nation, whether it's savoring spicy pepperpot during Christmas or enjoying a hearty cook-up on a Sunday afternoon. I often reminisce about our traditional festivals like Mashramani, where the spirit of togetherness shines through in our music and dance. It's this sense of community, whether near or far, that keeps me connected to my roots, especially within the Guyanese diaspora.
My aim is to share the beauty of our country and its people, acknowledging that while some may have misconceptions about Guyana, we are an integral part of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) and proud of our unique identity. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
